Changu Narayan temple is dedicated to one of the four incarnations of Lord Vishnu- Changu Naraya. The earliest form of the temple was constructed in the 4th century from metal and wood, and it has stood the test of time for more than 1,600 years.

The temple was inaugurated on the 21st of June 2010, on the border of Bhaktapur and Kavre districts. Kailashnath Mahadev is known to be the tallest Shiva idol in Asia.
